Fundamentals Wire Developer Documentation

Documentation for disclosure distribution formats, public access surfaces, and evidence-grade record integrity.

These pages are written for integrators building ingestion and publishing workflows, and for issuer counsel, newsroom editors, and journalists evaluating how disclosures are disseminated and preserved.

Disclosure, distribution, and public access

Fundamentals Wire is a disclosure and distribution platform designed to support how public information is released, accessed, and preserved in modern capital markets. The system provides multiple standardized publication surfaces, each serving a distinct audience and use case, while maintaining a single canonical public release.

The platform is built around a simple principle: information should be disclosed once, publicly, and accessibly, and then distributed in forms appropriate for regulators, investors, journalists, and downstream systems.

How this is used in practice

Public-company disclosures are consumed differently depending on the reader. Investors and analysts monitor releases for market impact. Journalists evaluate releases for newsworthiness and attribution. Regulators and counsel focus on timing, access, and record integrity. Fundamentals Wire is designed to accommodate these overlapping needs without fragmenting the underlying disclosure: content is published once, then made available simultaneously through multiple formats, all pointing back to the same public source.

Publication surfaces

Fundamentals Wire supports three primary dissemination formats. Each is purpose-built and commonly used in professional disclosure environments.

Choosing the appropriate format

In practice, issuers and consumers often rely on more than one surface at the same time: RSS for broad visibility and monitoring, Atom for structured ingestion and indexing, and NewsML for compliance-grade workflows. All formats reference the same underlying public release to maintain consistency across audiences.

Regulation FD context

Fundamentals Wire is designed to align with recognized public dissemination practices under U.S. securities law, including Regulation Fair Disclosure (Reg FD). The platform enables issuers to make information publicly available through channels that are broadly accessible and commonly used in the market.

Responsibility for Reg FD compliance remains with the issuer. Determinations of materiality, timing, and disclosure obligations are legal judgments made by issuers and their advisors. Fundamentals Wire does not make materiality assessments and does not substitute for issuer disclosure controls.

Editorial and journalistic use

For journalists and editors, Fundamentals Wire functions as a public source with stable URLs, clear attribution, and consistent metadata. RSS and Atom are designed to integrate into newsroom monitoring tools without requiring specialized access.

  • Monitoring: Use RSS or Atom in a feed reader, Slack/RSS bridges, or internal alerting.
  • Attribution and verification: Follow the canonical link for the authoritative public release.
  • Archiving: Atom is typically preferred for structured ingestion; NewsML is appropriate for schema-driven preservation.
Start with RSS or Atom for monitoring and ingestion. Use NewsML for structured distribution workflows, and Auditability & Evidence for verification context.
